About Me

Just returned...I've been busy having a new granddaughter in Washington, DC. Jasmine's blooming and mockingbird's singing for a lark. It's spring in Austin. Passionate about international, ethnic, and cultural variety, cities, outdoor markets. Sculpture and architecture--natura l and man-made. Water. Sunlight. Thunderstorms. Snowy days. Curling up w a book in front of a fire, next to someone I love. Physical intimacy. Adore cooking w friends. I've lived and traveled extensively overseas and my frames of reference are global. Interested in science and a wide variety of cutting-edge research areas--questions people ask and how they go about answering them. Edit papers for international doctoral candidates, post docs. Eighth graders help me tutor them in math. Like to write. Politically liberal, and active. Play it again: a fabulous trek in the Grand Canyon--sky was clear and moon was full--one bloody cold December. My next trip will be in March--got 10 weeks to build up to it. My two daughters inspire me. They're intellectual, sensitive, experimental, and challenge me to engage in new adventures. We exchange ideas and opinions and work to respect each other's boundaries. Not a couch potato: prefer lectures, seminars, walking, swimming, working out. Like theater, jazz, blues, chamber music. Wait,Wait Don't Tell Me, Jon, Stephen, and Austin bumper stickers make me laugh, biographies, historical fiction. Think we'd enjoy one another? For the right guy, I'll transition elsewhere.
