About Me
I am a single professional male looking for a woman who is just as cool with staying in and watching a movie as going out. I am from Philly originally, and still go back often to see family and friends (and go to Eagles and Phillies games). I miss the great restaurants (which I still go to when visiting the city), but I don't miss the city wage tax or the parking tickets. I enjoy traveling whether for a few days or just overnight to D.C, Baltimore, NYC or A.C., but I am fine staying at home and cooking (which I have found to be strangely relaxing for some reason). I am an enthusiastic golfer and play at least once a week (although I am really not sure why since it is a source of infinite frustration). I enjoy chess, puzzles, Scrabble, reading (mostly pulp fiction/legal thrillers, but I enjoy some nonfiction), and movies (I tend to watch a lot of movies, actually pretty much everything other than B-grade horror and foreign films, although sometimes I will watch those too). I have recently begun to listen to a lot of classic rock and blues on Pandora, but I will listen to most music (not so much with the country & western or hard core rap). I am also a bit of a news junkie (although reading the news lately makes me wonder if I am a masochist). I tend to be a bit snarky and sarcastic at times, and enjoy that in others. I also, apparently, am a big fan of parentheses and ellipses I am not sure what that is about (or when that started. . . . )
As far as what I am looking for, a sense of humor, intelligence, and sense of adventure are required. Some creativity would be a bonus, although certainly not necessary. I would also like to find someone who likes to travel. I am not looking to immediately travel to Australia, Asia, Argentina, or any other places starting with the letter "A," (although all of those places would be cool) but I would like to find someone who wants to stretch their boundaries and explore a bit. In terms of a job/career, I don't really care what the other person does, as long as she enjoys it, generally. I would rather be with someone who works in retail and wakes up ready to rock the register than a neurosurgeon who dreads each morning.
I have been advised to close my profile with something uplifting and endearing, so feel it is appropriate to add that I love dogs (but not in an unnatural way). Tarantulas and snakes, not so much. Or gerbils. And what is up with ferrets? I mean really, ferrets?? And then you occasionally see people walking a ferret on a leash. Seriously?? Oh crap. . . . I love dogs (but again, not in an unnatural way).
