About Me
I enjoy long conversations over good coffee. I am intrigued by the ironies of life and enjoy embellishing them with a touch of humour; the following culinary adventure being a case in point. I bought a frozen, "bake it yourself" challah recently thinking that it might be part of new holiday tradition. When I got home and opened the box I noticed that it was about the size of a croissant so I figured, well, a new FRENCH holiday tradition. The recipe required that you leave it on the table at room temperature covered by a cloth for about half an hour before baking. Well I went and did some errands for a few hours and when I returned and noticed the the cloth seemed suspended in air. I thought to myself people are selling tortillas that look like a Messiah for thousands on ebay, I wonder what I can do with a levitating holy challah (pronounced Choly Challah). At any rate, when I removed the cloth I noticed that kosher yeast must have a great time when they are left alone because the challah was growing faster than the Blob. I immediately put a fork through it and now I have what looks like a matzoh, which of course may be good for a new Passover tradition.
