Friends describe me as kind, sincere, passionate and thoughtful. I'm the kind of person who seems quiet at first, but pleasantly surprises people as they get to know me better.
I currently teach Bible in a Jewish high school, but have also spent much of my career working in the larger world of social justice/non-profit work beyond the Jewish community. You can frequently find me sitting in my favorite cafe with my nose in a gemara, but I'm just at home working on a political campaign or attending a city council meeting to advocate on behalf of something important.
I love spending time in my kitchen cooking and baking. My great joy is throwing Shabbas dinners for as many young (and older) Jews as I can get my hands on.
My creative impulse is pretty strong. When I have the time, I love to write, sew and otherwise make things from scratch, as much for the process as for the final product. I get a great deal of satisfaction from using (and eating!) things I make myself and sharing those things with others.
