About Me

I am: Chivalrous but not a chauvinist. Confident but not conceited Quirky but not weird Serious when necessary and goofy when appropriate. I live to travel. I've lived on 3 continents in the last 6 years. Writing is a passion of mine and I am in the middle of a semi autobiographical novel / screenplay. This is a true story that, I believe, speaks to my character: One night in Accra, Ghana (West Africa), I was walking Sarah, a fellow volunteer and good friend, back to her house, after a night at the local bar. She had asked me to walk her home, because she "didn't feel safe" walking alone at night in the capital. While walking her home, A taxi came to a screeching halt and two men got out of the back seats. We were attacked by 2 muggers with machetes. I positioned myself so that I was between the two muggers and my friend. One mugger approached me. Pointing his machete at my face, while he yelled at me in the local language Twi. He then patted me down and emptied my pockets. As he did this, his weapon lowered. Simultaneously, I saw mugger #2 walk past me and advance toward my defenseless friend. Assuming he had the worst of intentions, I made my move. I grabbed at my attacker's weapon and began to wrestle it from him! He yelled something in the local dialect I didn't understand. I couldn't separate his grip from the machete! Time stood still. Seconds passed like lifetimes!!!! From behind, I heard footsteps rapidly approaching. I glanced back over my shoulder to where my friend was previously standing and screaming. She was not standing anymore. Rather, she was running away from the commotion, still screaming for help. Thankfully, her attacker was not chasing after her. My actions had drawn his attention to myself.. Unfortunately for me, he was now directly behind me!!! To make matters worse, he was full on swinging his machete directly at my shoulder!!!!!!!!!!! You should message me if you want to find how how the story ends. 100% true My life would make a pretty good movie. The lead female role of love interest has yet to be cast, but the search is ongoing.
