About Me

Divorced for several years, I am seeking a new start with someone who is a good friend. My daughter has just married, and I now have more space for myself. I don't think I completely understand what makes it work between two people so I'm a little vague about what kind of person I am looking for. Probably someone with a really good sense of humor, on the dry side. I've been told that I'm pretty funny. My politics are on the left with special focus on the environment. I've been doing animal rescue for the past two years and live with two rescued dogs . I've been intensely physical for most of my adult life and that still is important, but I really need to have interesting conversations.I live on the Island, but I am a native Manhattanite, and I am always in the city. I go to the movies as often as I can, with a special enthusiasm for French films. Big HBO and Showtime fan, but also love The Good Wife and Nashville.. Musical preferences range from early Dylan to Rufus Wainwright as well as bluegrass and country.. I like to cook and to eat out and cannot imagine a summer without the beach, hoping that here in Long Beach we will all recover from Sandy. I go to the gym, ride my bike, do yoga and play tennis .My career path began in the classroom, moved into administration and now has brought me full circle back into the classroom where I teach Advanced Placement English. I live in Long Beach now, but spent most of my life in Manhattan with one year in Paris and one year in what-was-then-West Berlin. The wall is down and here’s to new beginnings.
