I am a child of the 60's, a teen of the 70's, an emerging adult (chronologically only) in the 80's, and all that those years imply. It's difficult to draw together the many facets that intertwine to make a person who they are, but I'll try...I feel things very passionately, with strong likes and dislikes, sometimes steadfast in my opinions, sometimes fluctuating, always willing to hear another point of view. Laughter and humor, from the absurd to the outrageous, are the basis ofwho I am. I can find humor in almost everything, though not always appropriately. A friend recently referred to me as 'endearingly irreverent'.My daughter is the joy of my life. She's almost 14, fiercely independent, very fun, and very teenagerish (and all that that implies). I adopted her from China when she was a baby. Choosing to raise her Jewish was the catalyst that led me to the B'nai Mitzvah class that I am currently taking. I adore dogs and cats-I have 2 dogs, and used to have 2 cats. I work in a dog and cat boutique. I taught Special Ed kids for almost 30 years. When I realized that my students were the children of my past students I knew that it was time to move on, so I retired and made this very positive move to my present job. There are definitely similarities, but canine customers are almost always happy and affectionate!Politic s, however scary they may be these days, are exciting, fascinating, and very worrisome to me. I lean uncompromisingly toward the left.I love hiking and enjoying the beauty that Colorado has to offer. I also like to bicycle, travel, see movies, shows and concerts, read, and be with friends.I feel that we all need to do our part for the good of the planet and each other and I try to live my life with honesty and integrity so that the footprint that I leave is one I can be proud of.
