Writing this is hard since I am anathema to being pigeon-holed. For example, my hair is burgundy, which wasn’t even a choice on the hair options! Although I am almost 60 (eek!) I have been told that I look and act much younger (that is a compliment, I believe) I have strong political, spiritual and fun (social) sides. I am passionate about the people and causes I care about and am a loyal friend. Financially secure, I am looking for someone with whom to share adventures as we move forward. I love dancing and being silly and lots and lots of laughing. I appreciate people who have a good sense of humor and don't take themselves too seriously. I am intrigued by the physical and emotional challenges of yoga and the calmness, serenity and self-acceptance of Asian religions and I continue to explore my connections to Judaism in new ways. My family is important to me and I love being a part of their lives, particularly my grandsons. I love the sound of my grandson's laugh. A commitment to social justice and social equality is in my blood. It came down from my parents and has been passed on to my wonderful daughters (and son-in-laws although I can't claim any credit for them, I guess). I have spent my work life in the "helping" professions and can't seem to get away from that even in my semi retirement. I like new challenges, both physical and social; from a balloon ride over the countryside or zipping over the trees in Costa Rica, skiing, camping or traveling to exotic places on a whim. An inveterate travelaholic, I read the NY Times travel section religiously. I enjoy trips that connect me with other people and allow me to explore exotic cultures and languages. I speak a couple of languages with varying facility but always enthusiastically.
