About Me

My personality: alternately, fun, serious, lively, almost never conventional, quixotic, cool, sometimes hyperbolic, less often understated, passionate but not lascivious, very very funny, witty, and like almost all truly witty people, don't like jokes, never ever sarcastic, it is the refuge of the weak and passive/ aggressive, volatile, hot, warm, compassionate, likeable, way, way off the beaten track, will put up with almost anything in a relationship except boredom, same is true of friendships, loyalty is maybe my strongest strength, and I wouldn't have anything to do with someone who was demonstrably disloyal..... so much for my personality...and now on to "me"...which appears to call for information apart from personality.....Fran kly, I am spending a lot of time alone these days, finding the company of books, youtube.com, music preferable to genial but not exciting company.....but always make time for good friends, most of whom are in NYC, where I lived for over 20 years, but I do have good friends in and around the New Haven area. What I really do miss is a "relationship" where its all going on: romance, passion , intimacy, fun , meeting of the minds, really good companionship, if there is anything that beats that, I hope someone lets me know.   As to tastes, the written word is very important, more so than music or TV....at any given time I'm reading politics, the better forms of self - help, the collapse of Wall Street, which I find interesting in terms of both substance and the unusual players, sports, and sports biographies, some of the best writing of the century is via sportswriters: Jimmy Cannon, Dick Schapp, Red Smith, Grantland Rice, all no longer with us, but immortal to me.   Food: Southwestern, Barbecue, Italian, Diner (Cheeseburgers, French Fries, etc.), not big on Chinese, it all tastes the same to me. Constantly on the look out for lesser known Mom and Pop places, particularly Italian. Trying hard to like healthy foods, veggies, fruit, whole grains.   Professional..... College, Law School, Tax Shelter Development, cable talk show host, educator
