About Me

accents in general make me very happy. i like to drink, but not to get drunk. i am very much a homebody these days. i spend my spare time reading (non-fiction - currently reading I Am Malala and anxiously awaiting the release of Alan Cumming's autobiography), watching ridiculous television shows, sipping herbal tea and going to barre classes. my family is loud, vulgar, and you will probably be completely insulted by at least one thing my father says. i will not handhold or coddle you if you can change a negative situation but choose not to. while it takes a LOT to make me angry, once you've done it, i will throw out every sarcastic remark i can think of in the heat of the moment (but will probably apologize and bake you something later). i try to be as positive about life as possible. i love animals (and have a ton of them). i own far too many bath products. i'm a believer in natural healthcare coupled with modern medicine. i have a job i really love. i read politico and huffpost at least once a day, and i refresh jezebel constantly. i find humor in silly, goofy, vulgar, juvenile, and political things. i enjoy the finer things in life (swanky hotels, in particular) but i also love being out in the country. nashville was one of the best vacations i've ever been on. i am a liberal - i believe in a woman's right to control her own body, my gay best friends' right to get married to each other, and that it is our responsibility to take care of our fellow humans, regardless of how we think they should live. i don't do drugs but i really don't care what you do, as long as you don't do it around me. i have a deep faith, but i believe religion is best when it is personal and kept out of government. i believe our current gun control system is woefully inadequate and mismanaged, but that we need to improve it, not do away with it. i believe misogyny exists. generally, i am happy to engage in debate on any of these issues, but i also don't want to go out with someone who is going to have a problem going out for drinks with my same-sex friends. i do believe there is a middle ground to be found in there, but at least this gives you an idea of where i'm coming from in life.
