About Me

I used to be the publisher of a major US gossip magazine, starred in and directed major feature films, once released over 20,000 bouncy balls in a crowded lunchroom, briefly considered a career as a Nordstrom’s pianist, split the atom twice and invented the ‘Bottom Line’ ticker as seen on ESPN. Ok, those may all be gross exaggerations but each one does have a basis in fact (except for splitting the atom, I made that one up)… I am passionate about what I do (I design technology for college athletics) and could be called a nerd, but I think I fall more into the geek category. I will admit that I have more than one Star Trek series to my Netflix queue, have read all seven Harry Potter novels and still play the piano, but don’t worry, my idea of a rockin’ weekend is NOT playing World of Warcraft until 4am while chowing down on Cheetos and cranking some trance or techno europop crap I’d much rather spend a Friday night watching a game at the ball park with my glove on, eating a progressive dinner at three new sushi, Mediterranean and tapas restaurants, people watching at Pattie’s in Old Town, owning my friends at Scattegories on game night, or showing off my knowledge of useless factoids at Team Trivia. As for the kind of woman I find attractive… I admire women who know what they want in life and aren’t afraid to say it. Someone who knows how beautiful she is and doesn’t need to be reminded constantly (but also doesn’t mind it when I do) someone who is not afraid to get out of their comfort zone, and bring me along for the ride) someone who’s as comfortable at a football game with a hot dog and beer as she is at a fancy restaurant (you’ll have to pick the wine, though). If we can’t carry a conversation about something more interesting than what Khloe and Kim posted on Instagram last week, it might not be the best match. However, if you have sparking insights on the merits and drawbacks of an increasingly globalized economy, or want to go toe to toe in a debate on whether SportsNight, News Room or West Wing was Aaron Sorkin’s best TV series, send me a message and let’s chat further…
