Hello fellow Jews!
My name is Ariel. I'm 25, and from Toronto. For the past two years I have been living in Israel. I first volunteered with Magen David Adom for a few months before enlisting into the IDF as a paratrooper. Its been quite a culture shock coming back to Canada, but good to be home! I currently work at the LCBO, volunteer at Sunnybrook Hospital, and in September, will be studying Paramedicine.
I am constantly in the pursuit of self-improvement - whether intellectual, or physical. I would much rather do something active on a first date (rock climbing, anyone?) and am a very honest and open person. So be prepared to answer some tough, stimulating questions!
I could never live without knowledge. Its power, it opens doors to you, and its something which can never be taken from you. That, and my circulatory system are pretty important to me.
My favourite books have to be the Sherlock Holmes series. I am thoroughly addicted to the BBC series as well. Breaking Bad comes in as a close second. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to watch television, but Modern Family, Dragon's Den, and Whose Line is it Anyway? are all a joy to watch when they are on.
In terms of music, I listen to quite literally everything. Every song I have ever liked (Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls are included) goes into one giant playlist and set to random.
I love to be active. I play in a baseball league, and toss the Frisbee around with friends in the summer. Come winter, I'm usually playing Shinny or playing indoor sports. I haven't experienced a Canadian winter in nearly two years!
I love to put people on the spot. I joke around with strangers, I play pranks on friends, but most of all I love sarcasm and wit. I like people who can take a joke and throw one right back at me - all in good fun.
I'm the kind of guy who yells at the television set during a hockey game. When I get into something I get WAY into it. Sometimes to the point of frustration - but its fun. Maybe its the little bit of Israeli in me, but what's life without a little passion?
I'm also a struggling chess master (yep, still mastering chess). Its fun to play, even if I lose all the time. I love doing the crossword every morning with my coffee (it makes it taste better, I swear), and collect all sorts of antiques. I have crisp old bills, National Geographics from the early 1900's, and little nick-knacks from my travels. Remind me to show you sometime!
Friday nights are usually spent with Family. I gotta tell you, we go hard on Shabbat. Our table ALWAYS is overflowing with friends, family, booze and delicious food.
To be honest, I would love to tell you all about myself in person, so I think I'll end it here. I'd love to hear about YOU though, so send me a message!
