Wow, where to start. Well, Im Ariel, Im 24 years old currently living in northern Israel. Im a lone soldier in the Airborne division (Paratroopers or צנחנים) in the Israeli Army and am soon finishing my 18 month service. Before the army, I was a medic With Magen David Adom (Israeli Red Cross) on ambulances in Jerusalem for 4 months There I saw everything from life to death which sparked my fascination with the human body and medicine. I came to Israel a little over a year ago after finishing my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and plan on returning to Canada after my service.
Born and raised in Toronto, I Grew up in a traditional Jewish house with strong Zionist roots. As a grandchild to a holocaust survivor, I feel a very strong personal connection to Israel and its defense. My grandfather acts as a constant source for inspiration and motivation for me and is a major reason why I am here.
I like to run, cook and oddly enough antiques. I can get lost for hours wandering around in shops containing little snippets of lives lived and cherished objects. Its cool to think what parts of your life will be saved long after you are gone! There is nothing I love more than to take a nature hike in cool off-limit areas (there are no shortage of them here in Israel) because sometimes its better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.
