About Me
I guess I could call myself a born-again optimist. I have learned a lot of hard lessons over the past few years, but the most useful one I've learned is that happiness is a choice. You have to make a conscious effort every single day to be grateful for what you've got and to notice all the amazing things around you. I try to live my life by the golden rule and do my best to refrain from judging others. That being said, I have a hard time trusting people who don't naturally root for the underdog. I also make a conscious effort to walk in other people's shoes as much as possible. Sure it gives me blisters, but it keeps me grounded.I'm a divorced mother of two (16 and 13) and am a bit wary about dating again. Still, I'm a relatively young person and I know I should give it a shot. So here I am. I love traveling, good food (who doesn't?), live music, art, novels, movies, theater, NPR, PBS and dogs, among a lot of other stuff. I've been told I'm a witty person (although wit is most certainly a subjective thing) and a sense of humor is the trait I most seek out in others. My dad, who survived two years in a Siberian prison camp, taught me that humor (even in the blackest situations) is the key to survival. True dat. :)
