Hi, I'm Marc! I moved to the city last summer to start my job with a newspaper, and I'm slowly settling to this whole grown-up routine. I graduated from the University of Maryland in 2011 and earned a master's in public affairs journalism last June from UIS (the mythical, tiny U of I campus hidden among the cornfields).
I love my job as a reporter, where I mainly cover lawsuits in Cook County courts (and some politics) for a newspaper written for lawyers and judges. I spent a few months reporting from the Illinois Capitol before that, and my "pre-journalist life" was focused in nonprofit and policy work.
I'd consider myself an animated, clever conversationalist with lots of random, pointless trivia facts in my head. I prefer my peanut butter crunchy, my M&Ms in pretzel form and my sentences Oxford comma-free.
I'm looking for a nice Jewish girl who's motivated in life and career, who's interested in exploring fun opportunities in the city and who won't force me to eat stuff made of kale.
Away from my job at the Daley Center, I've become very involved with the local Maryland alumni club and growing it ahead of my beloved Terps' arrival in the Big Ten this July. I'm a loyal (and often frustrated) Chicago sports fan, and I'm always down to attend a game or watch at a bar. I like museums, festivals, touristy things and concerts — most often, lately, of the country variety at Joe's Bar
