About Me
I'm a California boy and living proof we don't all surf--though I would like to fulfill to that stereotype at some point. I'm always on the lookout for the next new adventure or activity--I've been going to lindy hop and blues dancing one or two evenings during the week. I've been practicing improv comedy for the last two years and am working to achieve my dream of performing regularly with a troupe. I'm up for most sports, but I especially enjoyfloor gymnastics (read: amazing ninja acrobat). And no, guys don’t wear a leotard for that.
Entertaining guests and cooking are some of my specialties, especially finding recipes with unique ingredients, like apricot and dandelion soup. My most recent quest was to replicate my favorite Chinese eggplant dish, which I have yet to conquer. I recently moved to Philadelphia from Washington, DC to start a PhD program, which means in five years I’ll be a nice Jewish doctor--just not the medical kind.
Judaism is an important part of my life Jewish values and observance are important to me, but I enjoy experiencing different religious settings and appreciate the diversity of ways people choose to be Jewish. I also love Israel--most of my extended family is there and I've visited almost enough times to count on my fingers and toes.
