Take me to a park, nature reserve, or just a place with a lot of trees, and the smile won't come off my face for hours. I'm a semi-recent NYC transplant, still adapting to DC and its slow-walking but super friendly population. I still feel like an oddball actually walking up and down the escalators at Dupont, as opposed to just riding them.
Staying healthy and running are huge parts of my life, and I wake up at 5am most weekdays to train for some race I have set as a goal. Not one to rage at a loud bar -- bigger fan of going out with close friends to a quiet restaurant or low-key spot. Surrounding myself with people who are themselves and don't try hard to impress others is extremely important to me: I'm pretty goofy and don't take myself seriously, so I'm put off by people who do. And though I can be shy when someone first meets me, I'm a good sport when I have to step up to the plate to fill long silences.
