About Me

I am a very easy going, upbeat, social guy. I love spending time with my close friends, cooking meals together (I love to cook and am pretty good at it!), going out to hear live music and preferably dance, or just having a beer or glass of wine with friends or a special friend! I try to be kind and respectful to those I encounter--that's something that is important to me. I have two sons, 9 and 19 years old, both of whom live mostly with me, although their Mom lives around the block, and she and I get along very well (considering!) We've been separated almost 7 years and are finally moving the divorce along now. My kids are both very awesome, The older one has become a very serious rock climber and cyclist. He's also a skilled photographer. The nine year old is more into the arts, including theatre, music, and origami! Back to me.... I am a really good listener. It is something people notice quickly about me, and I consider myself very lucky for it! I love spending time at the beach, and have managed to make it out to the Cape with both my kids pretty much every summer, for the past several years--the Vinyard as well, which we adore! I've also been very fortunate to have gotten to visit France and other parts of Europe several times, as my Ex is from Northeastern France, and up until we split up, we made it a priority to visit her family annually. I've also had the chance to visit Thailand and Nepal numerous times, and to have lived in Guatemala for two years. Those were fun and interesting times! Being an expat can be incredibly fun and exciting! I studied Public Health Nutrition in Grad School--a field that I enjoyed and worked in for about a decade. For the past twenty years however, I have co-run a fairly successful International wholesale fashion company--a business that I co-founded with a childhood friend and still run with him. We design and import accessories, such as scarves, and purses, mostly from India and Nepal. We sell to stores throughout the country. We try to promote and support good wages and conditions among the artisans who make our goods. We also try to run our business in a fun, fair and successful manner in general. After 20 years of raising my boys and working long hours with the business, I now have more flexibility with my schedule and look forward to using that to re-engage in some of the things I've been wanting to do over the years, such as-study Spanish and French, pick up the guitar again, and learn to dance better. I've also gotten the travel bug again and have been wanting to visit Cuba for a while now. Maybe Mexico, Costa Rica, and St. John as well! I'm hoping to find a woman who is kind, who likes people (herself as well), ilkes doing outdoor things, like camping, the beach, etc, loves kids, and has a nice sense of humor. After 7 years focusing on the kids, I definitely feel very motivated to find and be a loving partner with an adult again!
