What can I say about myself that hasn't already been written in a Police report? Being an ex-cool kid has allowed me to be able to expound on the merits of 1977 punk and the joy of demolition derbies while my more intellectual side can appreciate mid century dutch design, the works of Timothy Pfluger and the films of Danny Boyle (not complex, but he is amazing). The night the De young opened I went to a Demo derby and made it back to the city in time to see some Goldsworthy and African tribal masks. I am not adverse to seeing new things and trying them so I can definitively say whether I like it or not. Sometimes it can be painful (mysterious sushi item in Japantown was a bad idea), but usually it makes for a good story in the end (don't stand in front of an elk and stamp your feet. True story.)
