Better start with the disclaimer: I'm not Jewish. Of Greek heritage. Don't practice any religion, but my spiritual beliefs are important to me. Politically liberal--if you're not worried about global warming, we probably won't get past discussing the cheesecake without a serious conversational hiccup. By the way, I make a mean pumpkin cheesecake, which earned me a marriage proposal when I brought one to work recently. (I declined--I want to be loved for my origami.) I like tennis, swimming, dancing. I was long married (34 years) and am now long single (5 years)--I'll explain why only "separated" so far, if we talk.I'd like to find that gal who knocks me out in all the obvious ways, somebody to spend the rest of the trip with. But we don't need the pressure of trying to divine that right out of the starting gate. Dinner and a movie can be lovely, too. I think the things that need to pair well in a relationship are intelligence, sense of humor, and values. We don't need to see everything alike. But we should get pretty close on some of the big issues--not just global warming, but basic ideas about relationships, how living things on this planet should treat other living things, etc. The clash of my rapier wit and yours should draw sparks, not stares. And our images of success and a good life should look pretty similar. If you want to spend your vacations in a plane and I want to spend mine on a beach, we may not be destined to light in the same time zone.So, hello ...
