I am sincerely looking for a friend before anything else. I'm athletic, and prefer participating in life rather than just watching it go by. Judaism is very important to me on a daily basis, even though I refuse to pigeon-hole what I believe into one of the main categories. I'm independent and can totally look after myself, and I like the same in a partner. I'm totally open - if you want to know anything about me, all you have to do is ask.I've got four children, none of whom live with me. Two live close (son and daughter) and I see them all the time. One of them has a child, and I see her all the time too. My youngest daughter is in Napa going to college and we're close. My eldest daughter lives in London. We're fairly estranged but I'm working on it. They have to grow up sometime, right? Now you know what's truly important to me.Beyond that, I've been self employed most of my adult life. I keep fit. Been riding motorcycles since I was 16. Been singing in bands since then too, and added bass guitar when I was 20.I don't think there's such a thing as an "ideal" match. Every relationship requires work. Having said that, if there's that certain something at first sight, well that's a good start! After that, it's common interests, just wanting to be around that other person, and developing intimacy. There has to be respect, and trust, and maybe love works its way in there.I have no desire to jump into another relationship fast. Been there, done that - bad results. I don't need anyone to take care of me, at least not yet! So, I'm not desperate. I want to take the time to get to know you and let's see if there's a basis for friendship. After that, who knows?
