In my experience, people evaluate a profile by the pictures and degrees of "check-the-block." Given that, I'll state the bottom line up front: I'm an Army officer in pursuit of personal and professional excellence and balance.
I graduated from West Point and now specialize in reconnaissance and tank warfare in the Army. I've led troops in combat in Iraq, and consider completing our mission and bringing all of my soldiers home to be one of my greatest accomplishments; I strongly believe in serving the nation and safeguarding the people and values that make it great.
I want to be less generic than the profiles with variations of "love to stay in or go out," and choose some unique highlights. Adopted from Brazil, I grew up in Washington, D.C. and went to a Quaker high school that gave me my love of learning, sports, teamwork, and healthy competition. I have strong values but don't see the world as strictly black and white, prefer to take things slowly, and strive to be a gentleman. I think religion is important, but think what's more important are the values it teaches about being a good person. I try to be as straightforward as possible, while recognizing that tact is critical to open communication between partners.
I'm looking for someone who's intellectual but still enjoys regular physical activity to stay fit, is considerate of others, independent, decisive, and communicates clearly. I also want someone who is interested in sharing as much fun as possible!
