About Me
I'm a down-to-earth, intellectual who wants to do everything but hasn't figured out how to fit 36 hours into a 24-hour day.My current (and long-running) obsession/passion is Russian language and history, particularly the period from about 1760 to 1830 or so. I was in Russia for 3 weeks during summer 2009 and hope to go back in 2012 (200th anniversary of Napoleon's invasion). Other passions include writing fiction, studying languages (Russian, French, Arabic), gardening with native plants, and trying to raise my sons without driving them crazy. I love beautiful sunrises and sunsets, Rachmaninoff, the sound of frogs after a rain, hummingbirds and butterflies in my garden, and more things than I can list here.......FYI- I am in the final stages of converting and expect to complete the process in the next few months.
