I feel that I have lived a rich and full life, and that it just keeps getting better and better. I am blessed with good friends, an ex-wife with whom I am very close, two wonderfully competent and loving daughters and two grandchildren, Jake, 5 years old and Allie, two years old, both who absolutely knocks my socks off. I just came back from a trip to Equador and the Galapagos and last year to New Zealand, and if I were young again, would move there in a minute. I am an academic and clinical psychologist, recently retired and moved to Austin. I taught psychology in a doctoral program in Berkeley and have also been associated with a trauma center in Cape Town, South Africa which I visit periodically. I also write and have published several books and a textbook on cultural diversity. I have done a lot of social justice work and am interested in the interface between psychology and Judaism. My over-riding passion however is travel. I have spend extensive time in Israel and South Africa and visited many places around the world and still have a long list to tick off. I love nothing better than to explore new cultural worlds and try to do the same here at home. Personally, I am intelligent, verbal, easy going, emotionally open and psychologically oriented, am somewhat of an idealist, have a good sense of humor, enjoy laughing, and am a good and reliable friend. I've had my challenges in life, like everyone, but feel that I have reached a place of inner contentment with who I am and am capable of being in healthy and fulfilling relationships. I am looking for a partner who is first of all a good friend, honest, open and transparent, at peace with herself, loving and caring, with a real sense of adventure for life and living. It is very important to me that we can both learn from each other and keep growing.
