About Me

. Thanks for spending a few minutes reading this essay. I am an easy going, caring, romantic, kind, interesting, creative, and honest person who likes to have fun and am hoping to find someone who is the same. I believe that honesty and good communication are the keys to a successful relationship. I retired from teaching three years ago and am very active. I like to walk, take day trips, go to concerts,explore new restaurants, go the local JCC for exercise, and do some volunteering. I have done some travelling and would like to do more. Hopefully I'll get to Israel next year. I love to read and you will find reading materials in almost every room of my house. I would love to get back to fishing and boating and being on the water. I do wish summer was 12 months a year as I m not a fan of winter! I would never have dreamed when I retired that one of the most interesting pursuits would be in designing and marketing fabric jewelry. I enjoy meeting customers and helping each to find the items that match their interests. I am most busy crafting and selling during the fall. That leaves me with a much more flexible schedule and free time as well during the rest of the year. After all, why retire if I'm still going to be busy all the time!! I'm a FEMALE who likes and follows college basketball including the Syracuse Orange.. It's quite the experience to watch a game live in the Dome! I enjoy puttering around the house in my garden and also attempt small home improvement projects. Some attempts lead me to call a real handyman!! This summer I tried to foil a large woodchuck who was eating the plants in my garden.. Capsacin spray finally got Mr. Woodchuck to abandon his home under my deck but he ate some crops first. I belong to a reform congregation , the same congregation that my parents belong to. I sing in the choir at High Holiday and volunteer in the gift shop/ Attending services on some Friday nights is as much a social thing as religous as some of us eat dinner together afterwards once or twice a month.. Family is important to me. My parents reside in the childhood home where I grew up. I am fortunate that they are both still alive. My mother is an excellent cook and still a resource to me if I need advice . She is still trying new recipes and has over 100 cookbooks at home. Also, I am a grandmother to two wonderful boys. My son and daughter-in-law live locally. Being a grandmother has its perks as anyone who is a grandparent can tell you! Thanks for taking the time to read my profile. I am very self-sufficient but after being on my own for too long miss having a partner. After reading this perhaps you think that we might complement each other. Let's explore each others feelings, likes, dislikes and insights. Life is too short to let someone get by that you thought did not meet all my requirements or expectations.
