About Me
I like NPR, PBS and movies with subtitles. So if at the outset, you think I am "cute," you might be disappointed later. Or—my figure might be cute. That would explain why when I walk down Olive Boulevard: teens honk, young men lean from their pick-up trucks to croon "Hey Babe," and guys over 60 crash their cars.
In the last several years, I have taken some good trips: up and down the Oregon coast and 11 days in Israel. Dreaming of Florence and the Grand Canyon.
To feel optimistic and balanced I need to keep learning. Right now, I am enrolled in a film appreciation class. It only meets once a week, but it makes me feel upbeat the other six .
I have great kids, kids-in-law, three granddogs and one thrilling, brand-new grandbaby.
God is a mystery which my human mind cannot penetrate. But I had to believe in something enduring and bigger than myself, so I decided to put my faith in the wisdom and goodness of my tribe. I am a member of Congregation Very Big—one of the largest, Reform Jewish synagogues in the Milky Way Galaxy—where my son is the resident shofar blower.
I am attracted to people who are intellectually curious, healthy, emotionally mature and fair. I have failed more than once at admiration, but I am wonderful with respect, equality, loyalty and empathy. Overall, life without a partner is excellent. In the same way, that a dinner (maybe of grilled, wild salmon) might be excellent—even without dessert. But I miss having someone trustworthy to shower with affection.
