As a filmmaker, when trying to describe anything, and especially something as complex as a character or vast as a historical event, a good approach is the description of the big picture through the small ones, the macro level of global events through the eyes of one family, for example. To do this, a good writer identifies the key moments which contain in them the essence of everything. Like a droplet that contains in it the whole ocean.
Approaching myself in this way, a scene from my life would include the following:
Meditation - not cross legged on a mat but in the sense of alignment with life and what it is I come to embody. Filmmaking, an artform I work with which I find to be the most appealing way of sharing experiences, and a language of inspiration. Studying, my craft, and beyond, studying philosophy/wisdom or spirituality. And finally, peacefully enjoying life, because while there are many things I don’t know, something deep down tells me that in the end of the day it’s all about the journey.
