I prefer the heat to the cold, the Giants to the Ravens, (much to the chagrin of my friends here), and quiet one-on-one conversations to a large group of people. There’s something to be said for knowing what you like, right?????
Coming to Baltimore by way of New York, some things about where you grew up will always stick with you. I still love and appreciate all that a big city has to offer, like Broadway shows and endless museums. On the other hand, I feel lucky to be where I am now. I have two wonderful boys who never cease to amaze me and a 20+ year job in education that’s been very rewarding over the years. Teaching has always been a passion of mine, so it’s nice when that’s fulfilled through your work. (Minus all the paperwork, of course!) While I know my kids love me, too, if asked to describe me, they’d probably say, “She’s a good driver and always gets me to wherever I need to be on time.” Boys will be boys! Now that my boys are a bit older, and I’m remembering what it’s like to have “me” time again, I’m looking forward to getting back into some things that I enjoy – playing tennis, wandering around a market or craft show, going to a museum, or just sitting outside and people-watching over a newspaper and good conversation. I’m looking forward to this next stage in my life – care to join me?????
