I have a new appreciation for high school seniors who have to write that quintessential essay describing why they would be the perfect candidate to be offered admission into the college they were applying to. I never thought I would be in the position where I was writing the type of essay where I was describing myself, my hopes and even some of my dreams. And then I suppose the supplemental essay question would be something like, "How to pick up guys without leaving the dorm room".
I'm fairly comfortable with my life and who I am, though it would be nice to have that someone special whose eyes light up when I walk into the room. My friends describe me as kind and compassionate. I usually can see all sides to a discussion, most likely due to the trauma (or is it the drama) of being a middle child. Having children taught me patience and to always try doing the best you can I just wanted to be a parent that taught by example.
I have a playful side though I'm very serious when the time calls for it. I tend to be open and direct because I think there are better things to do in life than playing games, unless of course, I'm playing a game (scrabble, backgammon, cards, etc.). I can go to a party where I don't know a soul, introduce myself to the person I'm standing next to and have a lovely time just as much as I can enjoy an evening at home with a good book.
As to "How to Pick Up Guys Without Leaving Your Dorm Room". I prefer the old-fashioned way of two people meeting, a conversation follows and then maybe someone asks the other person out for dinner, coffee or a movie and then so on and so on.
