About Me
Contradiction in terms By day (and yes, sometimes into the wee hours) I am an academic in an engineering field. By night I slip into a pair of snug jeans, or evening dress - and I am off. Off to dance the night away.
I am sunny, funny, and fun loving. But I also have a contemplative side. I am passionate about my work, and passionate about the environment.
I have always been physically active. Years ago I took on scuba diving, had quite a few dives, with some to over 150 feet, and a couple even with sharks. (I never really liked those). Later when I moved to Washington I took on mountain and rock climbing. I have made several multi pitch climbs at the moderate level of difficulty, some with exposures of several hundred feet. I once did an ice climb on a 400-foot frozen waterfall, though I would never do that again! More recently I have settled down a bit, and my newest passion is dancing. Ballroom, Latin, and West Coast Swing are my favorites. Physical activity has kept me fit and toned, and I look and feel years younger than my age.
