About Me

I just turned fifty but most people guess I am in my early forties. I am in average shape (could use some improvement) and generally considered attractive (decide for yourself). I am divorced and have two adult (at least chronologically speaking) children and a one-year-old grandson. In college, I majored in biology and political science. I had the choice of law school, graduate school for public policy or biology. I earned my PhD in Molecular Biology in 2001 but I am still very interested in how the world works at the macro-level and why. Currently I am doing research and managing a lab at Harvard Medical School. In addition to visiting with my kids and grandson, I spend my free time reading news online or watching movies (all kinds). I also have an affinity for TV mysteries/crime dramas (Criminal Minds, NCIS, etc.). My musical taste is eclectic (but no hip-hop or country). I like art museums and galleries (used to be in the business). I also enjoy road trips and traveling in general (open to all destinations). It has been quite a while but I also enjoy hiking and horseback riding. I prefer rivers to beaches, museums to nightclubs and good food to fast food. I don’t think I qualify as a foodie, but I am an aficionado of good cooking in nearly all styles. I am also somewhat of an anomaly, as I actually like to do some cooking (and cleaning, yes a clean organized male). Despite all of the above, I try not to take life or myself “too” seriously. I always try to find the humorous side of things. I love to laugh and I like to make people laugh. Although I have strong opinions on most subjects, I am extremely open minded and always willing to consider opposing views. In my view, it is the differences that make the world (life) interesting. I could tell you more but it would be better to find out for yourself.
