About Me
I prefer sailing and bicycling to driving. I prefer dawn at sea, but lipstick sunsets are lovely, too. I prefer dogs as companions but can cozy up with cats as well. I prefer a few good and true friends to many acquaintances. I prefer good books and movies to nightly television. I prefer stick shifts to automatics. I love all kinds of music, but jazz best of all, and I’ve begun playing piano again after a 26-year break. I like professional football (the Colts and Redskins, since I grew up in Maryland), but I don’t take it personally and I don’t pay much attention to other sports. I've made my living as a journalist, writer, editor, advertising and public relations professional and always laugh when people tell me they "love" to write. I write for food. I favor red wine (a good Pinot) over white; good single malts and Irish whiskey. I prefer cooking (I'm good at it), to cleaning up. I’m unsure if there’s a G-d, but figure it never hurts to hedge your bets and I’m enormously proud of my Jewish heritage. I've had some tough times recently, but I’m here and I'm strong, and I’m ready to step out…slowly. I've never done this online thing before and I'm nervous about it.
