About Me

I am a very compassionate, sweet and friendly person who truly cares about the feelings of others. I believe I am a loyal friend who is kind, funny and thoughtful. I truly love helping others! In terms of my interests I am a political junkie with a passion for all things relating to Democrats and the Democratic Party. At present, I serve on on the Democratic Central committees for Montgomery County and the state of Maryland. I have worked on campaigns for Democratic candidates since I was 10, as I believe politics is the vehicle through which one can make positive changes in the world. I am a fan of all the local sports team particularly the Washington Redskins. I am also a news junkie who loves reading the Washington Post, Time and Newsweek. I also love to read non-fiction books. A major part of my identity is that I have Cerebral Palsy and use a walker to get around. I do not tell you this for pity but I am very proud of the fact that I have turned this unfortunate circumstance into desire to fight for change. I serve on the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, which advocates to enhance the quality of life for Marylanders with disabilities. I have advocated for people with disabilities before legislative bodies on numerous occasions. In addition, I serve on the board of the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, (JFGH ) which is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization that provides housing and other services to adults with disabilities. I also serve on the board of Sunflower Bakery, which is a bakery staffed by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the supervision of two pastry chefs. (You must taste our products!) I also enjoying public speaking and spending time with children with disabilities. Other than politics, sports and disability advocacy, I love going to the movies. My favorite type of movie is the romantic comedy. Lastly, I am very close to my parents and older brother. Being Jewish is a very important part of my life.
