I like to take the time to overanalyze minutiae, upto the point where you have to forget about the topic and never mention it again. That makes for smiling Sunday breakfasts or ruined ones depending on your stance, and I am precisely undecided about how I feel about myself as well.
If we were ever waiting in queue for tickets to a movie you should be comfortable with giving up at the last moment turning around and going on to do something completely different - like visiting an owl sanctuary or whatever the contemporary whim dictates. Spontaneity over finely tuned plans. And Peter Pan over olive oiled frying pans.
I have two rules for conversation:
1. Only ask people questions that reflect choices they've made, and
2. Only ask questions that in all probability have never been asked before.
Lastly, I like to be challenged on my own rules, occasionally fail to the point of humiliation and try the toothy grin tactic.
