To those who have reached out to me, thanks for your kind thoughts. However, I have met someone and am entering into a relationship. I wish you success in your search.
Mark Twain once wrote that the difference between using the right words and using the almost-right words is like the difference between being struck by lightning or a lightning bug.
Perhaps the same could be said about meeting the right person ... and the almost-right person. Probably like you, I have chased lightning bugs, and once or twice been struck by lightning.
On the other hand, perhaps the right person is not the one who dazzles, burns up in one brilliant flash, and then fades forever ... but the one who will work with you to build a steady fire, that keeps you both warm, all through the night ... in fact, through many, many nights.
Somewhere lies the right blend of friendship, romance, intellectual companionship, and passion. So, let's sit back ... stoke the fire ... show me your mind ... share your thoughts and your heart ... and enjoy the warmth ....
"Come...," says Browning's Rabbi Ben Ezra, "The best is yet to be." And, Oh yes, we will make that fire sizzle.
And I enjoy the beach (which is always better when shared with a special person). Perhaps, soon, you?
So I look forward to the possibility of getting to know you and the woman you really are ... what you like ... what you love (and, come to think of it, I might like to become part of the latter).
About that question on body types. The choices are limited. You won't be embarrassed to be seen with me at the beach, but the days are gone when you might wonder if you could bounce a quarter off my abs.
"Though much is taken," says Tennyson's Ulysses, "much abides and though we are not now that strength which, in old days, moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are -- One equal temper of heroic hearts, ... strong in will, To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
