Intrigued? I may not fit the profile of the typical member of this site, but I thought I'd give it a try because of the uncanny similarities between traditional Jewish and Hindu Brahmin families. For the most part we seem to share values such as respect for elders, family, education and spirituality. Bar Mitzvahs have their correlate in the Upanayanam (I had mine when I was 11). Its no secret that Indian and Jewish Americans happen to be among the two most successful and well-educated groups in the US. And I know multiple happy Hindu-Jewish couples. To me its the best compromise between cultural compatibility and the vibrancy that comes with mixing ethnicities.
I like to read, stay active, travel and experience different cultures/cuisines. I tend to get along most with people who are nice, a little nerdy, sociable, share a quirky sense of humor and a fun sense of the absurd. My friends would probably describe me in those ways as well. There are a lot of exciting things to do in Pittsburgh under the surface, and as much as I'm open to finding a girlfriend or my lifepartner on this site, the main reason I'm here now is to meet cool people to explore this town with.
