In July 2011, I retired after working for the federal government for a little over 27 years in the fields of contracting and auditing. I'm grateful for having reached this stage of my life and am really enjoying my activities and hope to still explore other activities so that this time is both meaningful and creative. Sharing this stage of my life with someone special would be the icing on the cake.
I've done some volunteering, most recently I helped lower income individuals and the elderly in filing their tax returns for 2012. It's also been nice to reconnect with some creative activities that I enjoyed in my youth. I enjoy nature and participate on hikes with a great group of people. Not too long after retirement, I took a trip to Israel to visit family. I hope to do more traveling both in the States as well as overseas.
I am a soft spoken person who is warm and caring with an easy going personality. I'm very supportive and loyal to friends and family. I value honesty and believe that trust and open communication are important factors in making a relationship work. I have a quiet strength about me. I always try to put a positive spin on situations that may not always be rosy.
I hope to meet someone who is intelligent, upbeat, and who has a sense of humor. Sincerity and unpretentiousness are also nice qualities that I hope to find in that special someone.
Although we may never completely know each other's perspective, I would hope that we would learn not to take our differences and opinions so seriously and open up with each other so we can gain a better understanding and reach an even greater commitment to each other.
People often comment that I'm always smiling - I have to admit that I do like to smile. I want to enter into a relationship where we can both share our hopes and dreams as well as our most innermost thoughts. Life is comprised of both high and low moments - sharing all these moments with that special someone is something I am looking forward to.
