About Me

I think December was Springier than Spring, but isn't Washington wonderful before the humidity and gnats? This is the season when my house becomes a B&B for out of town family and friends. I love to entertain. I am recently back from Paris and Barcelona, where I went to visit my jet-setting children. I told my kids "Life is a big, juicy apple," and now I live with the consequences as they travel the globe having marvelous adventures. While I miss them terribly, it certainly increases my opportunities to see the world. I'm a born and bred Washingtonian, so politics is in my blood. I love political debate, and can entertain opposing viewpoints without declaring their holder an idiot (ok, sometimes they're an idiot, but not just because we disagree!) I have a yogic Beginner's Mind and a New Yorker's sarcasm. I like to nest, and I also like to run around doing everything. Well, not everything: golf and I have never done well together. While I can walk a city until my sneakers are shot, I enjoy my down time as well, whether reading or cooking or snuggling in front of the TV. I travel not infrequently for work and for pleasure and a) always enjoy the next trip, and b) am happy to see my dog, put my feet up and enjoy a glass of wine in front of the fire when I get back. It would be so much nicer to come home to you and your broad grin at the other end of my trip, or have you come and share the adventure! My work is very fulfilling, but it doesn't take all of my time nor define me. I have great family, friends, overall a joyful, passionate, fantastic life. There's just one major factor missing, so here I am, looking for you!
