I'm someone who is sure about almost everything I want out of life, and then is proven wrong at least 50% of the time. Examples? I wanted to go to a small college, I ended up loving a college with 40,000 students. I always said I'd end up living in a different state then I grew up in, but here I am in Maryland (though I did live in Florida and Australia first). I thought I wanted to teach in an upper-middle class school, and am having the time of my life in one of the poorest schools in the county. Maybe looking back at this, I don't actually do such a great job of knowing what I like...but I *do* take risks, enjoy the experience, genuinely give everything a chance, and admit when I'm wrong. I'd have to say, I think those are pretty good qualities to have.
There's a line in the musical RENT that says, "I'm looking for baggage that goes with mine". I was only about 14 when I heard it, but it's always stuck with me. I'm looking for someone who compliments my strengths, and accepts my weaknesses. If you think you could do that, I'd love to hear from you!
