I like people, mostly, and feel blessed that a good number seem to like me. Passionate at conversation, I'm also passionate about being in 'foreign' countries, learning and improving languages (of which I speak a few) and immersion in those cultures. I hope to continue being interested and interesting and to write about it all. I love bicycling and other vigorous outdoor activity, movies, music, the arts, civilization -- and did I say people? It's now three years since I lost my wife of 42 yrs. Of course I miss her, but mostly I'm overwhelmed with gratitude at being alive. She was too, and said so when she knew she was losing it -- among the great women. A successful marriage means one of you likely buries the other. Painful, but a good thing!
Last year I had my first romance of the new life. It taught me that I can still feel and am a flaming romantic, very sensual and loving. Now alas, it's over. I want to move on.
WARNING: I hope to spend three or four months in Spain during the coming year. I'm back in the Bay Area for now after a four month stay in Bolivia, visiting my grandson and his parents, and re-grouping after a mixed experience in Bolivia.
BTW - notice I misspelled "Norwegian"? Funny, nobody seemed to notice, for a long time..
