I'm finally up and running hereabouts! Yay! So, catch me now, poppet! Whoever you are. Take a chance, go for broke, make a wish. Okay. Here goes --
Call me Shye. Or Shai. Same diff -- shin plus yud. Yeah. Essentially, I'm a quirky writer/artist. I have written a YA novel of around 85k words, and I hope -- pray -- expect -- believe -- I will be published some day. I also have a stack of picture book texts, some of which I would prefer to illustrate myself, some of which I'm willing to let go. Apart from writing, I draw, paint, sculpt, woodburn, sew, felt, needlefelt, and upcycle -- and assemble/create original works of art. I also grow my own culinary herbs and some veggies -- in my patio container garden. With moderate success, this being my first year at it, an' all. Ultimately, I'd love to be self-sufficient. I love the Great Outdoors, but I also love movies and entertainment -- the Great Outdoors on screen. Sigh. At home in the city or countryside. I'm very well traveled -- an international gal. I don't pussyfoot. I tell it like it is. I'm very open-minded. That's innate. I'm also unshockable these days. Comes with reaching half a century, I guess. I admit to being a tad scatterbrained. I have a compensatory high IQ, mind. *grins* I can talk/voice my opinion on many a subject, me being a goldmine of trivia, an' all. Though you can bet your bottom dollar that I'd rather keep it to myself than steer or bulldoze conversations. I never, ever quote anyone. Too tacky to my mind, and utterly unoriginal. Yep, I know 'stuff about stuff', but don't necessarily need to feel or sound like a smart-arse. Try me. *winks*
Update: just started a great new job! It's part-time, mind, which'll give me the opportunity and wherewithall to start an online business. Yeah. My polymer clay sculpting is going great guns. I have several realistic full-figure pieces ready to 'fire' -- in a regular household oven yet! Ebay, here I come? Other than that, I'm about to set up an online store on a renowned and excellent arts/crafts site called etsy. Zazzle has its appeal, too. Yay! I'm on my way! *sighs happily* You with me on any of this?
