About Me

I like to think I have my act together financially, professionally, and emotionally. My friends say I'm a good guy, loyal, and hilarious. Don't know about that last one, but if they say so.... I am a geek/nerd/tinker. I like technology, gadgets, and DIY projects. That said, I like having a friend/partner who will challenge me to get away from technology, but who will also enjoy it with me at times (Rock Band? Netflix? Kitten videos?) I'm saving up again to own a home in 3-5 years (house or condo) so I can DIY the hell out of it. I can patch drywall like nobody's business. There are stories about why I had to learn. And I hang a mean ceiling fan! I enjoy being out in nature, or at least outside. When I spend time outdoors, I prefer interesting activity (shell-searching, fossil-digging, bug-hunting, walking, hiking, swimming) to lounging about. I am in the process of reacquiring camping gear. I am equally happy and find equal value in art, history, and science museums, though I enjoy more the odd niche museums, like the Postal Museum, or MoCCA. I also (try to) create art in various ways, some public and some private either way, expression is important. I keep active and try to live fit and healthy, in part so I can indulge when the urge strikes. A variety of activities, most of them outdoors (and many of them seasonal) hold my interest currently and I'm open to new and interesting things. I am happy with "me", I enjoy my work and my hobbies. I am not complacent, though. A great measure of my happiness comes from the exploration of new things and the chances to grow as a person.
