Nature lover, homeowner, progressive, punster, and an occasional couch potato as well as fan, collector and distributor of cartoons and the insights many provide. Enjoy my position as Career Counselor for the Department of Labor. It happens 'Bruce', my middle name, can be found in 'bureaucrat'. Yes, I'm in labor, although I don't look it any more than in my mid-50's (an impression most share). Once served as a VISTA Volunteer in Tennessee during the turbulent 60's (took part in Rev. King's Memorial March of 04/68), later as a Hotliner. Have published poetry and editorial letters, one recently. Interests include reading, history, current events, science, garage sales, hiking, the arts, travel and exercising. I'm UU-inclined and have long since attended temple, yet still cherish many values of my birth faith of Conservative Judaism. I prefer being funny but can also be serious and sarcastic (especially political terms - and when teasing my friends). Seeking an adorable chick with an open mind who actually loves to cook (even if she can't) and willing to relocate to my nest.
