About Me

Seasonally freckled, playful, compassionate and creative. A house filled with music and murals. A refrigerator filled with exotic condiments (and a few jars with unidentifiable contents). A reflective mind chock full of questions, quirky observations and sometimes amusing solutions. Strives to be authentic. Physician, visual artist, composer. Moved by modern dance, vivid fabrics, indigenous art, found objects and sounds, India, poetry, travels in Africa, faithful supportive friends, living near the ocean. I am a life-long artist and musician. I enjoy working with kids on creative projects. I love my work as a physician, spending years recently as a rural doctor on an isolated island or working for the Indian Health Service or rural clinics in Maine. I feel lucky each day to have the chance to communicate with and advocate for a diversity of human beings. I have had the ethical conviction to stand up for what I know to be just and have taken the consequences. Quick wit. Empathic. I have many ongoing projects of my own and also enjoy nothing more than helping others complete a dream project or collaboration. Currently am enjoying participating in a Talmud study group. Love the color of marigolds. cooking Indian food, picking blackberries, taking my skiff out on the ocean, making handmade gifts for friends, reading out loud. Love dogs. Miss my sweet Nagila, constant canine companion who worked with me in the clinic for 12 years. Fesses up: eating too fast, playing accordion, never finishing a whole cup of coffee, fear of television, occasional dandruff. I aspire to be less self-critical and more courageous. Orderly house...Messy car. Witty. Freely expresses gratitude. Exercise often. Easy and fun to talk with. Reassuring, affectionate, generous, intellectually provocative, enthusiastic story-teller, persistent communicator, compulsively creative, creatively romantic. My hope is to meet someone with integrity whose interests overlap with mine and whose strengths complement mine. For fun: venturing out in my inflatable boat to an island offshore.
