About Me

Hello! I’m sweet, compassionate, have a good sense of humor and am not afraid to laugh at myself. In high school I was voted, "Class Clown" and "Dazed and Confused." HA! I am the first to admit that I am very book smart, although I am quirky. I say what's on my mind and I am told that I have a lot of energy. My laugh is contagious and my smile can "light up" a room. My family is very important to me. I love going home to long island for a weekend to eat my Dad's home cooked food and sprawl out on our big couch. My Dad is Italian, so he is a big cook. I am a "pizza bagel!" I grew up with the best of both worlds. I was able to have my Bat Mitzvah, yet still celebrate Christmas and Hanukah! I am currently a Reading Specialist at a Middle School in Astoria. I went to Syracuse University and pursued my graduate studies at Columbia University. I pour my heart into teaching and truly love what I do. Although teaching can be rewarding, it is often exhausting. Teaching is also not what I think about most of the time. I think more about how I'm going to spend my free time. I spend a lot of time thinking about what I'm going to have for dinner, what friends I am going to see on the weekends and what new restaurants we can try. I'm a big hot yoga and spin fan. My sister turned me on to hot yoga 2 years ago. I normally do bikram yoga and yoga to the people. It is absolutely insane how much you sweat in those classes, but I come out feeling light as a feather and ready to take on the world!! I love a good workout, but I'm also a huge fan of italian and mexican food! I also have dessert almost every night. Cookies and cream ice cream with rainbow sprinkles is my favorite! i have a constant supply of rainbow sprinkles in my apartment. I don't understand people that can eat ice cream without sprinkles!! During my free time I also love to go food shopping at Whole Foods, cook/bake, go on adventures throughout the city and dance like I've never danced before!
