About Me

I am a fun loving fellow who seeks a best friend, companion, playmate, fellow explorer/traveler, dance partner, lover, co-chef, sportsmate, discussion partner, honest critic and who likes hugging and being peaceful together. I am a family oriented guy and I have a wonderful, dynamic and growing relationship with my adult children [mid-20s male & female]. We often visit, share holidays, vacation together and just do cool stuff and enjoy each others company. My best friends are the Jewish fellows I grew up with, attended public and hebrew schools [and college] with, and have raised our families in connection with one another even though we are dispersed along the west coast-- our families have vacationed together for years -- our extended family of choice. I have travelled abroad and throughout North America with these best friends-- some of us have been buds since we wore diapers! I tell you this because long-term, sustainable love and friendship are among my most cherished values. I am passionate about gardening-- raising flowers, veges, fruits, berries, trees, etc. I have a very large backyard along a creek in the middle of Corvallis that is an urban garden refuge and delightful place to hang. My home is very comfortable and cozy-- lots of room for another occupant. I like to cook [have a huge cookbook library] vegetarian and ethnic food and fish. I have not eaten meat [other than fish] for 40 years - my home is kosher, parve, pesca-vegetarian. I love ethnic food of all sorts -- so much vegetarian option. I like to street and mtn. bike ride, hike, canoe, camp, explore, travel, watch movies, I thrive on OPB educational TV programming-- I learn a lot watching/studying smart intellegent PBS TV [on-going education]. I have a 20-year poker group playing twice monthly. We do annual poker raft trips-- yes, I love rowing a raft on a wild river!! Regarding food-- my sephardic grandmother was strictly kosher cooking foods from Spain via Turkey [ancestral history for 450 years] and this exotic food culture calls to me. I want to re-explore my cultural, ethnic and culinary heritage with a partner who seeks like experience. I aspire to travel to Spain and Turkey [Izmir] to celebrate this, my strongest cultural legacy. I know my children want to have kids and I want to be able to fully share our cultural endowment. I want to be a good Jewish grandparent and would like to share this experience with a Jewish woman life partner/mate. I am a spiritual person who is currently not observing or engaged with any routine religious observance or practices/ dogma. I have lived in an observant, kosher home. I have been very active in the local Jewish community in the past although not currently active. Jewish values direct my life. Tikkun Olam is my path. I am an active, outgoing person who is not reticent to engage, contribute, participate, love, share and celebrate the joy of life. I have much to share and offer.
