About Me

I am 61 years young,although I do feel the beauty as well as the losses and aches of aging it is indeed a mystery that seems to get deeper with time... I am a musician and music teacher, and have spent my life exploring many musical landscapes (Africa, Cuba, Brazil, Jazz, R & B, Klezmer, Avant-garde...) Drums and percussion are my primary instruments, but now piano and recorder (Early Music) have my ear! I love teaching young people, watching their process unfold... I study tai chi, meditate, walk in Nature, write some, ruminate, love good jokes, am supportive, nurturing, love the diversity of the human family... I guess I'm culturally Jewish (my humor, background, progressive politics), growing up in New York City, in a progressive family. I respect the Jewish religious traditions, but I am more a practitioner of Eastern spiritual traditions (Buddhism, tai chi/Taoism), and am fine with other's belief practices. I am good with children, although am not a parent.
