Meeting friends for dinner at a local restaurant, a Mets game on Sunday (don't hold it against me - it's my brother's team lol - and I find live sporting events fun :) and hanging with my little nephew are all on the top of my list for fun things to do. I like going to the movies, but early on a weekend morning when the theater is empty, and I have been known to sneak in a Starbucks coffee. Painting is a hobby of mine as I was a former art teacher and I love being creative. I've been to London, Paris, Rome, Mexico, Israel and Canada...and just got back from Cuba! I'm also headed to South Africa for a safari in September. So yes, I have a passport and will travel!
Keeping in shape and keeping it healthy are part of my daily routine. I have recently taken to running - not marathons, but running for the benefit that cardio brings to the body. Have you seen those yellow kayaks floating around on the Hudson - I am wondering if they are fun to take out? I grew up going to summer camp in the middle of the woods, so if you like outdoorsy stuff it's a plus and something we can do together. I am a big fan of sushi and can't get enough of the ginger dressing they serve with the salad. I also have to admit that I pick out the yummy pieces of whatever comes in the ice cream container, such as chocolate chips or cookie dough, and I use a fork for to do so. My grandpa used a fork with ice cream – it works well.
I have a Little Sister from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. Mentor sounds so impersonal but it’s the best way to describe how the relationship started. I was paired with her 12 years ago and we are now the best of friends. She is a huge part of my life and I am amazed at what she has accomplished despite all odds against her.
The perfect man for me is a guy who is caring, classy, loving and confident. To me, the most important thing is that we connect on a variety of levels. Life is happy and amazingly fun so the guy for me would have a positive demeanor filled with witty banter and lots of laughter.
