About Me

I smile almost all the time. The perma-smile is reflective of genuine happiness. I stop to smell flowers. I actually hug trees. I appreciate that those things are a little bit cliche. I find the fun in the everyday-ness of life. Um, and I make up new words too. I'm honest, candid and straight-forward. I'm also nice, sweet and thoughtful. Additionally, I'm intelligent, aware &conscientious. I follow my dreams. I have a bucket list with crossed off items such as hot air ballooning (Albuquerque International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta crew member), vacationing in Alaska (trip with mom, 17 strangely long summer days with the most amazing seafood!), and serving in the Peace Corps (which is why I speak the Tsimehety dialect of Malagasy). Some things I haven't yet crossed off: make a quilt, read/speak Hebrew, get a black belt in Aikido, and have dinner at the White House. Continual self-improvement is a priority for me, as are my meditation and yoga practices. I would love a partner who also values continually striving to be a better version of himself, especially in those areas. I seek a partner with whom I can discuss the nature of reality. I seek a worldly man with a big sexy brain. Understanding the difference between 'your' and 'you're' is critical. Understanding the difference between democracy and republic is preferred. Understanding the difference between voting in booths and voting with your dollars is helpful. Living (or striving to live) with integrity is fundamental. I am very passionate about my work. My career is fulfilling and it's reassuring to know that I genuinely make a difference in the lives of the people I work with. I help people do what they need to do in order to improve the status quo for the community I work with. Assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, creating strategic plans from a grass-roots level, fostering an environment supporting positive growth, recognizing individuals for their significant contributions, and publicizing it all, so we can spread the good word about what we're doing are all in a day's work. Every couple of weeks I enjoy watching live theatre performances of all sorts. Generally I prefer small stage productions more than big stage productions, and the fewer cast members, the better. One man (or woman!) shows in small black box theatres are my very favorite because the character development can get really deep. I love art in museums- particularly paintings. I like sculpture too, but usually I prefer sculptures to be outdoors in a garden environment (especially if they're non-representational or abstract). I also ride my bike, take walks, play with my cat, and occasionally watch documentaries. And I really love to sleep.
