Trust me, I’m a doctor….
Ok, alright, I’ll admit I'm not a doctor in the "technical" sense of the word, but I just love using that line for some reason. One of those time-tested phrases great for situations when I need everyone within earshot to “think” I know what I’m talking about. At a minimum it gets a laugh, worst case a bad look – and in the end, it all balances out – so goes my view on life in general (write that down).
I spent two years during college in the air force, and was oh so close to becoming a pilot. However, life took me down a different road – seriously it’s actually down off I-95 by the airport kind of near that marshy area with all the tall weeds. But I digress. I still fly as a hobby. Occasionally I've been known to jump, with a parachute of course.
As for my interests, where to start? I have two sides. It's like having a little angel over one shoulder and a devil over the other. One side dreams of being in a rock & roll band, touring the country, and just having a blast – think of the 1980’s Journey music video for "Faithfully"...total ly epic. I am passionate about playing piano. I once played a Beatles cover for my mom and she cried – yes, it was that bad – but I’ve come a long way since. Born and raised a diehard Phillies/Flyers/Eagl es fan. Until the next new major life event occurs, like marriage or my first-born child, the 2008 World Series win still ranks as a pinnacle moment in my life.
My other side is like a closet nerd. I am the uncontested champion of totally interesting yet useless information. I can’t help it. This side keeps me “grounded” and explains why I am so damn good at what I do for a living. It also explains why I have a passion for reading and constantly educating myself. I’ve always got several books going…literally all open at the same time…I like to lay them out on the floor and attempt to absorb 3 or 4 at once. That process was going sort of slow, so I decided to temporarily revert back to old reliable one at a time. They say Einstein had a similar issue – I’m currently doing some research on the topic
