I am at my best when in the outdoors fly-fishing, shooting my longbow, birdwatching, gleaning wild berries or fruit from the forest,.....I also have a strong social conscience and strive to enrich the lives of children and other clients through my work a non-profit organization that I help to start in 2003. I am a licensed guide (fly fishing/backcountry) , a Wilderness First Responder and a Master Educator in the Leave-No-Trace Camping program (National Outdoor Leadership School).
I was happily married to a wonderful woman who died suddenly in January 2013. My two lovely daughters with whom I am very close, live in Brooklyn and Portland, respectively. I love to travel. My daughters and I are now planning an adventure in Patagonia for December.
I am very proud of my Jewish heritage, love/value many Jewish traditions. In recent years, I have taken adult Jewish education classes, in part, just to keep up with my wife. I also engage in interfaith dialogues and value my many friends from diverse faiths, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds.
I've written a lot about my nature/outdoor interests. Im much more multidimensional than that. I have a season ticket to the Portland Symphony and Portland Center Stage, an excellent local theater company. I also volunteer for causes, organizations and political campaigns whose missions I support. Politically, I am left of center, Democrat.
I am looking for a woman who is warm, loving, strong/fit, curious and adventurous, with a strong social conscience. Please contact me and lets go for a hike or a cup of good coffee.
